Roata solara

Roata solara (Cucuteni, Iasi, august 2003)

Ritual exercises

The rememorization of archaic rituals to the effect of subconscious archetypal imaging and the human being’s (re)integration in the cyclicality of the universal temporal rhythm by carrying on some actions deployed throughout several years(an attempt to recreate the anthropocosmic consciousness and to participate in the Cosmos rhythms).

The solar wheel (Cucuteni, Iasi, august 2003)
The actions of the ego’s reinvestment with solar powers, of rediscovering the human being solarity.

Stages:

At sunset:
The construction of the solar wheel, as substitute of the heavenly body in which the circle and the cross join their meanings.
The cross – symbol of the center and of the power lines leaving therefrom, of the cosmos totality and of the human being (as microcosmos); symbol of life and death, of their unity and alternation.
The circle – symbol of perfection, homogeneity, immutable and eternal motion, with no beginning or end, of temporal cyclicality.

At night
Repetition of a solar archaic cult by lighting and rolling the fire wheel on a hill slope, miming the sun apparent course on the celestial dome. The symbolic restoration of the heavenly body attributes and potentiality as source of life and death, of resurrection, of everlasting life return by passing through temporary death.

At sunrise
The action of blending, identification, attribution of the Sun features by overlapping the human shadow (the devitalized double, the embodiment of the soul split by the body) over the carbonized remaining of the solar wheel.

The archaic human being makes the most of himself in cosmic terms living in an ”open” world having at the same time an existence “open” to the world. Periodically, on high days, we have the opportunity to mimetically replay the plenitude to operate an imaginary return to perfection, attempting the symbolic restoration of that something which reality keeps on frustrating us of.
