The sculpture camp has already earned a special place in the cultural space of Cucuteni village. Down the hills hosting the vestiges of the famous neolithic culture named after our village, there is this art camp which I like to consider it to be an answer that people of the third millennium give to our ancestors 5,000 years back in time. It is a great joy for me, as a mayor of this village for all these years, to continuously fight and hope that, in one way or another, at least one fragment of this extraordinary cultural tradition should return to life. This camp came like a blessing. Sometimes I believe, poetically, that the energy of the Cucuteni culture has flown from the hills to this valley of the three wells and blossomed in the shape of a sculpture. Maybe it is not a simply coincidence that the artists called it "The Charmed Valley".

The name ‘Charmed’ is destined, it called the works of art here.
Nearby there are important monuments, we are in the village that gave its name to the Cucuteni culture and I think that the prehistorical dimension needed a contemporary touch. We are here at the second edition of the sculpture camp held at the symposium The Art and the Sacred, and I believe that, in time, we’ll gather a real collection, everything here is under the sign of value and eternity.
The space is significant for the equation given by this symposium, and more than that, we will not separate these works from the matrix of this place and from the atmosphere created here.
In the future the number of the tourists will increase as well as their interest because the voice of prehistoric times joins the voice of the present. These values born here belong to this place, and, the village of Cucuteni has become even richer when the sacred met the art.

I believe it is a great opportunity for the artists that perform , as always, an act of generosity, and it is a way of dealing with a challenging concept and a space extremely adequate for art and a referential domain, too. Artist know they are involved in expressing a very difficult significance today, staying in the area of modern and postmodern art
And I also think that the second edition of this sculpture camp succeeds to determine the condition of this cultural site, even give structure to a dense and lasting cultural space and I hope that the camp will become more and more attractive year by year.
